My Valentine Book

Here are a couple of shots from my kid's Valentine's books.... I got fancier as they got older and I created the cover from computer images.
Just take a full sheet of paper, fold it in half, and then in half again, like you are making a card. The outside becomes the cover, the back is the back cover. I used maybe 6-8 sheets of paper, folding them all the same way. Then I or I should say, the kids chose the order they wanted the valentine's to be in the book and they used a glue stick to put them in the book.

Sometimes they decorated the page with doodles, or as part of some of the valentine's there were heart stickers or character stickers. Then I had my kids sign the book (I love to see their little handwriting) and we dated them. The "Book" can be stapled, just like the binding in a real book, or you can punch holes and thread a ribbon through or an O-ring. It's okay if some valentines stick out, and you want to be able to pull them up a bit to see who it's from if they are signed on the back.

Also, other ideas in a similar fashion are coupon books. Computer quarter sheet pages like... good for one hug, free dish washing etc.... and then one last thing..... using flowers.... make cute pens that don't have feet for walking. The kids did this in 3rd grade. Pop silk flowers off of bunches, use floral tape and cheap pens, wrap the tape... stick pens in a decorated vase...beans are the dirt. Email me if you have any questions!!!

C-creative Presentation

- Happy as a Hedgie
- Flowers poppin'
- C- creative

I got inspired over the weekend. Colors, ideas, layouts, doodles.... lots of football... so the mind wonders and the hands get busy playing with all this fun stuff. You hear... well maybe you don't because I'm the one 'blurfing' all the time... but some say (those who blog their crafting) they will NOT bring another paper craft item into their house until they use up what they have.... yeah! right! That is so hard to do because they (the paper craft designers) are coming up with such adorable stuff... that you just want to have even more super adorable stuff! I'm playing! I'm creating! I'm giving away... I'm selling a little bit so others can send out FuN MaiL.

Went window shopping yesterday. Wondered in a few up scale (well to me)..... way above' Kohl's type of store' specialty shop. Talk about a fish out of water. But I loved it!! The smells.... boy do they pump the perfume in those stores. plates and cups displays in an exclusive clothing store? Perfect time to go shopping on a Monday morning at 11:30am!!!! OMG!!!!! the cute clothes.... light purples, and light green, loden (I think between grey/green) navy blue, scarfs, long beaded jewelry, jackets over t's and FLOWERS. Flower pins, flower bracelets, flower head bands.... just clip it on over the cute adorable expensive clothes and go!

I went to JoAnn's after and found some fairly cheep silky material.... searched the web when I got home for fabric flower tutorials, and created a few of my own. I found in a tutorial if you slightly singe the edges with a flame, it helps seal the fraying. Now I have to go and find my clips.... somewhere in my stash..... they were charging a tinge over $25 for these flowers. I'm cheaper.... want one? Email me, we'll work it out!

Got a crazy fun hair cut.... check out my 365 picture blog later today for updates on the new do!
Silly cabin fever!

Cross over in C-creativity

- Hanging on a wire
- Banner Day

Okay, I gotta admit that hostessing 3 different blogs is starting to get a bit confusing. Did I show you this picture? or was it posted on my 365 project photo blog or was it part of my wheeling and dealing showcasing cards for sale at cre8tive greetings too!! ? This is just a metaphor... I know the above card is a first time show (off) cuz I just made it yesterday, and the below card was highlighted on Day 24. But if you get what I mean, I'm having fun crossing over with my Creativity (one of my words as part of my going Back to BASICS, lifestyle). I don't think about what I'm going to post here, until I add the pictures, and then I see how they relate to what's going on in my life. My Creativity is hanging on a wire over into many different things.

Having a banner day:
refers to a day being noteworthy, shouldn't all days have something in them that is noteworthy or a reason to fly a special banner?

The above picture is inspired by Heidi Swapp's blog. She takes ordinary things and hits them outta the park in simple designs. She has old frames that she often adds her paper products to. She does banners and flags ... all the time hangs them off of empty picture frames, mirrors, blinds on the windows. Granted I'm not a national paper product designer, but maybe if I incorporate some of her fantabulous ideas on a small scale, it will make may studio a more Creative place just walking in there!

And I leave you with this final note... as I go through this day and many others after this, I'm going to take on the ironic sense that a task should be easy, thus having many banner days, after all, life truly is not rocketry. And if my final note makes no sense at all, go check out the house of Sh!ne's post for today.

Don't adjust the Brightness

- Cheers to you
- The most handsome dog in the world
- Finals

Making cards to add to the Yellow Awning Shoppe over at the House of Shine.

Well, don't think I'm just outside enjoying this beautiful fall weather we are having in Northern Illinois, I have so much more on my plate.  But I do admit, when I'm outside I really try to absorb the day, take in the sunshine, the blue sky, the slight warmth on my face, the crackling of the leaves.... the sights, the sounds, and the smells.
Isn't he the most stoic and regal dog you have ever seen?  My trusty friend, 'Sly'
Cooper Robinson.  Coopy  (yes, sounds like you are saying POOPY) to his bestest pals!

One parting shot,
fall.... most of these leaves have fallen.

Getting Caught

- Hand in the cookie jar

Cute card and just one layer with stamping only.  Stamps by Judith.

I feel as if my hand is in the cookie jar and I haven't got caught, quite yet.

Eeeek!  What to do?  You don't know me, I'm anonymous.... except I blogged this!  Over at the House of Shine Claudia is talking about SHINING and has a new video out about the Yellowenvelopeproject.com
