Walt Disney World

We just got back from a dream family vacation to Disney World. Here's the classic picture of the kids in front of Cinderella's Castle.... sitting next to Walt and Mickey Mouse. I just love this view.... so many people in the background taking the exact same picture!! Some day, I'll dig out my pictures my dad took of me back in 1972 and compare yesterday to today!!

He who laughs last didn't get it!

I get it, it's all about layering! $1 ribbon from M's. Those who don't know what M's and SU mean, they are all short for places (Michaels & Stampin Up!) that crafty card makers, stampers and like go to get their supplies. A lingo we all sort of have amongst ourselves. I love the orange and the pink together. The tough little butterfly that is hard to see is part of the $1 acrylic stamps from M's too!

Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times

I'm trying to look through my scrap pile and use up different bits and pieces. This idea is completely cased. Thank you to those who put their cards on blogs... they always help me to get my creative juices flowing... it requires effort to be original and unique, it doesn't require much effort to copy. Do you know the difference?

To infinity and beyond

These 'tickled pink' little piggies are from the SU Very Punny set. I was just picking different quotes to stage my new posts, and these pigs remind me of the Piggy Bank in the Toy Story movies. The middle pig pops out!

Go ahead, make my day

It's your day!! Trying different combinations. Stamp for the words is part of M's $1 acrylic stamps. These papers remind me of summer citrus colors. Flower square is on pop dots, so it pops out a bit!

Raggedy Ann

This is an oldie, but a goodie!!! Inside the text reads~ Friendship is a work of heart! I think sometimes I need to just go back to basics. I love cards with tons of embellishments, color, inking, fiber etc.... but maybe just colored paper and a simple image (which is hand drawn, but cased) is the best!!

Brazillian Cherry

For those who don't check my blog often, here is a picture of the new wood floors in the front room. You can check back further for older posts to see the before and after pictures. Let's see, what will be my next project to tackle????

If only I could spel....

Sorry about the spelling and grammar errors in my posts below... I often don't realize... I'm trying to type as fast as my brain is 'talking'. I should know better!!! Spell check, duh!!!! But then again, this is a blog... and not a Prize winning Essay!

Have a happy day!

Personalized Graduation Cards

$1 Stamps from M's, and a little computer texting.... a nice simple personalized graduation cards. All I have to do is mix and match backgrounds if anyone is looking for a card with their school colors. The "Congrats" part is popped up with foam.

More Sellabella's

Working on part of the 50 Creative Greetings I'm working on for Roseann the Realtor. This is a very cute stamp I bought from http://www.stampingbella.com/index.php. I used SU stamps to make special background paper that coordinate with either her beautiful trench jacket, or that match with the stunning house she just sold!!!

As always, check out my old posts when you get to the bottom of the page to see additional Creative Greetings, or to see what's been happening in our house, in the middle of the block, here in Northern Illinois, just south of the Cheddar Curtain.

Celebrate Mom

One holiday comes and goes and you move on to the next. The next holiday is my birthday, but that is not a national event, so I will move on to Mother's Day!

The background patterned paper is much prettier in real life... the stems on all the flowers are a shimmery gold leaf. It's a florentine-venetion paper I got at a Local art supply store for 20% off. The celebrate Mom is computer generated. Inside it reads just the basic "Happy Mother's Day." I'm still working with the staged back drop, this digital pictures seems a bit washed out... kind of like the day today in Northern Illinois.... cloudy and cold.... spring time is completely washed out!!

Creative Greetings ~ Card Party

Here is a display of my all my cards layed out for my first ever, card party!! I have to think of a better word for it. Well, maybe just using my Creative Greetings!! Party . . . . will do! My nice friend Karen, had two other ladies over to her house and they all looked through my cards, card gift packs and other misc. paper crafts. They oooohhed and aaahhhed. And they bought a few things. Look through the rest of the blog and see pictures of cards I make! It's a variety of mostly hand drawn (SU and TAC inspired designs) stamps, computer generated and a mix of all of the above. Thank you Karen K, Karen M and Jill. Happy Day!!!!

Background highlight

Since all the talk on message boards and blogs is about backgrounds and lighting... I did a quick experiment. I placed two different cards in front of and on plain white card stock. In one picture, I just took it with the tulip, or close up feature. In the other, I added a light from a table lamp and snapped the picture. The one with all natural light looks the best and is closest to actual card colors. The lamp adds shadow. This was a fun experiement. I love the layout of this cards, stripped patterned paper. The flower is cased from a Stampin Up! stamp, but mine is hand drawn.
