October Stamp Camp projects

Here are two of the 5 projects we made last week at Stamp Camp. The Cornicopia was real fun!!We used embossing powder to stamp the image, but colored in with pencil, markers and blender pens. It was a lot of little tiny stuff to color, fun to do once in a while, but I can't imagine doing multiple cards with this image. I love the color combo...egg plant and green (?) of the thank you card. The top paper with the flower image is a rice paper, so it is very light, feels almost like material. The image sits really well on it. I forget about creating cards with a 'touch' of ribbon off the side like that. See, this is why I go to stamp camp, to learn NEW techniques, to re-use old tips that I have forgotten about, and just to have fun!!!

Stamp Camp Cards

Went to stamp camp the other night and had a lot of great laughs! And also worked on three cards. Although many times I've created a similar card, I learn a few techniques I haven't tried or that I forgot about. Color combinations ....ohhhh that's a big one!! Like pink and burgandy!

We were working with different background techniques. The one in the sympathy card above used aluminum foil.... scrunch it up a bit, ink it and press your paper into the foil, it comes up with a speckled image that is unique. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!!

More Zindorf Inspiration

I have once again been inspired by all of the wonderful tutorials by Michelle Zindorf

Her instructions to follow are great! Go ahead and click on her site (My tutorials) and compare my work to hers!! Well, don't compare, just see what type of student I am!!! I don't quite have the brayer color technique down yet, but I sponge my color as best I can. And in almost all cases, I don't have the same stamped image, nor the same ink.... so, I draw my own image and use the ink I have on hand!

It's been fun to follow her work. Also, who would give this stuff away for free? The inspiration and just the way she teaches.... happiness everywhere!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Cute little monkey! I can't recall at the moment whose he is. Monkeys and owls seem popular once again in the animal kingdom of cute card making!!
All cards have hand drawn reproductions of the cute monkey...The 'hey there' card has a swiss dot embossing background. The 'for you' card I tried to smoosh ink around him and the vine. The flowers he is holding has a little dab of shinny stickles in the center. And finally, inspired by Markie's Mom's blog which every single, and I mean every card she makes has little dots surrounding each layer... one card I counted at least 13 layers, yikes and each layer had dots! So I just added dots around my what? 3 layers on the happy birthday card. I have one more monkey card with the cutie pie behind a palm tree, but I haven't completed it yet. More to come!

Cherry Blossoms

Two versions of the cherry blossom look. Just case-ing a few ideas, simple and clean looking cards. Every once in a while, I'm attempting to work on my shading. Not getting into the Copic marker craze, just using my water color pencils and the blender pen with my ink pens. TFL!

Stamp Camp Cards

I'm trying to use different embellishments on my cards. Finding 'stuff' in the drawers and actually using it!!!!The butterfly is attached with beading rings, so it dangles from the text, which is computer generated. The geometric clips adorn the Thanks so much card - SU stamp. I used my Cuttle Bug embossing folder to get the background image swirls!

Today's Creative Greeting cards are a varity of seasons and celebrations. Holly wanted to know why I started making Holiday cards... it's that time of year where everyone thinks ahead and the holidays are less than 2 months away!

Cute Primitive snowman!!

The faux stamps are from Splitcoast stampers, it is so versitile to add what ever image you want to highlight.

Sorry about the slight blurrrrr....this is a shaker card... little red & green sequins inside a little baggie. Love shakers, but they take time to create.

Circles, Circles, & Circles

Wow, and odd creative block, all of these cards madetoday have some sort of circle in the bottom corner. All are different themed, but a variation of the same design. This was very subconscious of me!!

Cards for hump day

Today I'm 'showcasing' cards I made yesterday. I've kept all of my Card Making Magazines and have started looking back through them to get new ideas. All of the cards are carefully drawn (copied) by me!

I like the Asian ispired card. The swirl background is the shaving creame technique.

The pear is layered water color pencils that I blended with an older blender pen, with a homemade formula of glycerine, distilled water and alcohol. I finally figured out how to make the sketch lines look less than perfect.


The birthday card is part of the OSW (one sheet wonder) technique I tried over the weekend. The flowers are inspired by a TAC stamp.
