MIA

I'm here. The two teachers I work for have been out all week. One other aide has been missing for two weeks. It's very cold and snowy out. I just can't keep up! See you soon!

Heartfelt greetings

My SU! demo loaned me another stamp set, so below are my creative results. This past week I've been trying to pull patterned paper scraps, then matching the card stock, then creating the image. It was fun to make the same image actually 5 different ways. Thanks for looking.

President's day... cards

Not that these cards have anything to do with President's... I thought it would be a good topic header. Yay! The sun is shinning again today, however, it is deceiving since it is only 15 degrees out. Needed some cards that had a spring look to them. Trying to clean out scraps and make them work. Nothing special about these cards, just using what I have on hand, making color frames and adding embellishments.

Saturday Sun

Two strange things as I gaze out my kitchen window next to the computer.... complete blue skys with sunshine and the temperature gauge in the sun reading 36 degrees and climbing. That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The past few weeks of foot snowfalls at a time and temperatures below zero windchills have made my cabin fever escalate. Hope I feel the energy to clean and create today! (wow, how good is this digital camera, window screen and all... so much detail in this pic)

Wild Rose

Although the slide show below could seem like it's the same card repeated 8 times, they are all slightly different. I used the faux postage template from SCS. This stamp set is on loan from my SU! Demo Marilyn. Thank you!! This stamp has multiple layers to it, I love, love the rose bud image, but the open rose is too big for my liking and since I don't have the tool to line up stamps, it was kind of hit or miss!! This beats trying to draw a rose.... I was done in a jiffy once I picked the colors I wanted to display. But, alas, my true love is CASE-ing cards and drawing whimsical images. Stay tuned for more.... soon.

Snow days good/bad

This week we had a snow day from school and got about 12" of the white heavy stuff. So, it gave me a chance to work on some cards, in between shoveling, cleaning and creating meals for all of the homebound family. Seems I'm in the Valentine color palette of reds, pinks and tans. Here is a wide variety of cards using the cuttlebug embossing folders and the Nestabilities scallop die. vellum, embellishments and other 'stuff' I have stashed around my creative dwelling.

Teal and Brown

Love this color combo. Pretty much anything with the brown, teal, pink, red... I've realized that with the dark colored card stock, I need to cut and cuttlebug it, or use it as a frame. I'd have to put a lighter colored sentiment sheet on the inside, and that was making the card much heavier. I like these simple images!!!

Happy Birthday stock up

The past few cards I've created, I've tried to use up scrap paper and see what I can come up with. It's amazing the new patterned paper the designers are coming up with now. They are so bo ho chick, cute and fun!!! The paper on these cards is about 3 years old. Time to move it out!!! The birthday gifts are hand drawn and the cake is a stamp from M's $1 bin. I like the idea of using the circle punches to add a little dimension to the card. Felt these cards were a little more masculine, if you will.... no frilly flowers!! I'm constantly looking for card recipes to make different cards. I get bored easily when I create every day.

Happy Cupcake Day!

I'm a week or more behind a project listed on SCS.... where they (those who are actively involved in creating projects and posting on the gallery) were using punched circles and layerer them in a row. I think this turned out pretty cute with the $1 acrylic M's cupcake stamp. Also, I like putting the ribbon on a card in a unique and fun way. The picture hook that holds the ribbon is off a $1 trinket ribbon that I found at Big Lots. Love to recycle things and get a deal!

Cherry Blossoms

Two versions of the cherry blossom look. Just case-ing a few ideas, simple and clean looking cards. Every once in a while, I'm attempting to work on my shading. Not getting into the Copic marker craze, just using my water color pencils and the blender pen with my ink pens. TFL!
