Pink Fairies

So, I got this used set for $5 at a SU! demo sale in January, and have never tried it. I have too much fun drawing these images... but I thought, what the heck, I might as well save myself some time and just stamp the image. Still, once again, I'm practicing my shading... I don't recall the classes I took in college... I think I took a perspective class... I think I'm supposed to think the light source is coming from one angle, then what part of the image has light and which part has shade. I think I need to take a drawing class again... so I can be re-taught. Here are two more cards to add to my stash... pink for some girlie, girl!!! Happy Day!

Sunshine Spring

Well, since I woke up this morning to frost on the grass, I thought I would spred a little sunshine with a bright yellow card. Case-d this layout and thought it would be a great card for any occasion... in any color combo!! Wishing you a nice spring day.... once all the clouds go away and the frost melts off all the new buds!!! Happy Day!

A hoot koala

I've been case-ing the boards again and see that owls are the new it bird! And then saw the cute koala bear too.... just been layering the images against a mat, using the cuttlebug for backgrounds or the nestabilities. I wish I could buy more, but the circle scallops I think are a good choice... I still have my colluzle to make ovals and circles, and just learned to sand the edges to make them smooth... silly me!! Cards that I'm just adding to my stash... for gift giving!!! Happy Day

Back ground paper

I love looking at Nichole Heady's blog... I believe she is one of the founders of Papertry Ink. A few days ago she had a challenge to make background paper. I've done it before, but tried again this week and these cards are my results. I'm trying to still figure out links so http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/ is my attempt. I really like SU! Groovy Guava color, the coral for those non-SU!. I remembered I had white ink and stamped the butterfly image. Most of my stamps are simple outlines, like my drawings, but I like the look of all these bugs!

Goodbye Cards

I know these cards might not seem it, but the images are drawn on the huge folded poster boards. So poster board is what, 24" x 30"... making the card 12" x 15" One of the teacher's aides last day is Friday, and I was asked to make 'goodbye' cards for three of the classes. Inside the kids (all 7th grade) had an opportunity to sign and wish her their farewells. The cartoon kids are based off of the Bella stamps, the mouse with the flowers is based off of whippersnapper, and the cucumber is the one off the Veggie Tales cartoons. I had to make them all different!! Used chalk for the 'kids', my regular water color pencils and markers on the mouse, and oil pastels crayons on the cucumber!!! I'm not used to making such huge things... it's a lot of work coloring in those lines!!! My masterpieces!!

Cupcake birthday

Just trying my hand at different cards, nothing new, exciting or challenging. Love the pink and green combo, reminds me of the preppy look from 1980! As always, I'm working on my shading of the image and using the copic grey to outline and make things pop!!!

Girly card

Here's my casing of an Elyzabell birthday girl. I notice a lot of moms want birthday cards for their daughter's friends. Don't get me wrong, I love cards.... but why bother buying a card for a 5 year old ?... they really don't care... they just toss it in with the wrapping paper!!! But often these moms come back to me... oh so and so, Suzie just loved your card.... anyhoo!!!whatever I'm giving away as gifts a few cards today, and can you believe in my stash of more than oh say 200 cards, I couldn't find just the 'perfect' ones.... but what I found will have to do!!

4 cards and a tote

I like this little card tote, and have given away many as gifts. I haven't been able to find any cool designer paper lately, so I've decided to make my own. For these 'special' cards I've been trying to follow a pattern of: Hello, Thank You, Get Well and Happy Birthday! It's almost like a OSW (one sheet wonder) only 4 cards have a matching cardstock/color/theme throughout (instead of 10) I like buying bunches of white daisys, I pop them off their stem, and just smoosh them into an ink pad of color, and voila~ matching flower. I've also used the cuttlebug and nestabilities with:ribbon, brads, punched flowers and stickles.

Sing like a canary

I was sorting through some of my images that I have in my drawing box, and I found this cat in the birdcage. It is one of Marisse Carriers designs. I did a lot of CASE-ing of her images last year when I did cards for a local pet store. I guess the cards didn't go over too well, I never heard back from them!!! Maybe a dog ate them!!! Mmmm, anyhow, what's old is new again to me! This is the SU! guava card stock and I found background paper in the Spring Stack that matched, perfecto... I'm finding simple cards interest me much more these days... kinda down in the dumps because of the lack of warmth and sunshine! I don't see anybody so they don't think of me when they need cards!! Darn it!

Make a birthday wish

Although I'm not totally MIA, the card business is slow, and the inspiration to create is low... but, I have taken pictures of cards that I recently made!! Oh, I want spring to stay here soooo bad.. bask in a warm sunshine, not a cold breeze!!
The first card uses some new background paper I got... it's from one of the 4x6 Spring Stack from J's.... half price. I like matching patterned paper (more or less the colors match)... and this layering was a recipe I followed.

The bottom card is a TAC inspired color combination and the birthday cake image. I think the magazine that had this original card is about 3 years old... I've made this particular card about 1/2 a dozen times, cuz I like the colors!!
Thanks for looking.

Spring - yay

I think spring may have finally arrived. Had two beautiful days in a row... I was just outside soaking up the sunshine. I am so happy, not s.a.d. anymore. Here is a card I made that had a removable bookmark... CASE'd. I used the slit oval punch from SU! to make the slots for the bookmark!

Sketch- The Stamp Shack

Flower pop heart

Oh I know this image was in the SU! Celebration catty, but I'm not going to even attempt to find the name... I, of course drew the image myself (it's just a doodle) and then added glitter to parts of it. I don't mean to be boastful when I say I drew it myself, I'm just stating a fact that it is actually a stamped image created by some other talented artist. I currently am having so much fun casing cards, because they are so abundant on blogs and galleries... too many images and recipes to choose from. Thank you to all (if there are any) lurkers out there that my check out my work. I appreciate Kim and Heather's ego boosting compliments! My two fans!! (swoon) Kim wanted to know how I had time to create so much(or something close to that)... I work on cards at night... I feel that I'm a fairly organized person and get what 'needs' to be done after I come home from school(were I'm an aide). My kids are fairly independent at almost 13 & 15 and I don't have much of a social life outside of carting them off and watching their events. So that's my deep dark secret... I love to create... and love to try duplicate images, because frankly, right now it's so much easier to copy than sit and be original.

Fifty cent

At Target last week in the $1 bins I found these little Disney tins.... teeny tiny!!! I thought I would be able to do something with them... and they were half off... so $1 for 2. I did not realize that gift card tins and nugget containers were the 'in" altering projects. So, I saw potential, and created one, covering all metal surfaces with paper, adding flowers and brads to the sides and ribbon and fiber to the handle. I also papered the inside of the tin.... and then there is a tiny tag... so when I decide who and what to give... the package is complete!
