Go Packers Go!!

I felt in the fall festive mood this weekend, although the Packers LOST to Tampa Bay, we are fall Packer fans around here in Illinois. Everybody is a fan, even Sly Cooper. Check out his bandana, and he even sits and poses for me showing off his proudness!!

I thought I'd snap a few photos of the front porch, before any frost comes and causes my mums to droop, and before the birds snatch away all the corn cobs!!

Charley card 3

HumMmmm, Charley's mom must be busy! I sent her a card two weeks ago to let her know that it was customer appreciation month and 5 FREE cards awaited her... good until September 30... and Charley on the card still waits to be picked up. Oh, I guess you could say I should just deliver the cards, but I thought it was a fun and open invitation!
Here I cut out the image of Charley and popped her up... look for the heart! This paper is a few years old, but I think it gives the card a fall - ish look. All these cards are just plain ole notecards

Before and After or After and before

Hi there - it's hard to grasp a tiny laundry room and get the real affects of before and after! But here goes. Actually my befores are during... on the walls before were a 6 inch stripe of tan and khahi wall paper ... original to the house and the other homeowner.

So, I peeled, cleaned and primed, before painting three coats of Jute on the wall. So my color theme is the Jute and rust, with a slightly country feel.

I needed a NEW and fun picture, so I created own laundry room collage with bits and pieces from my craft room and a little help from the computer.

To get a better view if you are interested, click on the pictures, they will enlarge.

Charley day 2

So, to make the Charley cards uniquely my own, for each image or card I have created the "Charley Heart"... each card she is on there is also a heart... either quietly hidden.... or boldly stated!!! Can you find the hearts???
Left over patterned paper, cuttlebugged (nesties) the frame and image, drew a cute Charley. This is just a blank note card for wrting in! For actually writing in, can you imagine people who still do that???
Stamp camp tonight!!!

More cards with Charley

Well, I don't know if it's just me being off, but I couldn't create a slide show with my Charley cards today. I could create it, but couldn't transfer the pictures. Mmmm, I'll have to try it again some time. So, I'm just showing them off... one card at a time! Used Nestabilities for the scallops and then cut out two images from the patterned paper and popped them up. It's customer appreciation week for Charley's mom who is a good creative greetings!! customer!

Envelope Box altered

If you look a bit further down on the blog you will see my 12 pak card stack, a variety of cards for different holidays throughout the year. It's just a fun way of packaging my creative greetings!!!! Tera, a lucky recipient at Highlowaha won the cards.... and just ironically.... she ordered 12 Happy Hello cards..... score on the shipping department!!! I couldn't just send her a simple little box, so I altered two 100 envelope boxes I had laying around, just for this purpose. I like how they turned out!!! So, each box holds 12 cards and 12 envelopes.
blurry pictures again, look at them from a distance.... I'm always in such a hurry taking pictures lately, my bad!

Week of 9/22 Zindorf cards

It seems like Michelle Zindorf must be off teaching her great techniques! She only posted a few new tutorials. Lucky ducks who are off taking her classes somewhere!!
Here is my homework from last week. My tree stamp is from TAC and the leaves are a bitty background SU! stamp from a few years ago. I think I will make a few more of those. (Dag nabit.... blurry pictures.... aaargh) The 'swirl' in the rounded card is very harsh, I must have put on a lot of ink... I like it when it just looks like a little gust!!
My spider inspiration is hand drawn. I've said it before, I'm still working on making those webs look cool. I still need to see one while I'm drawing it!
I'm not sure I can give/sell any of my Zindorf cards, because I love them soooo much.... but I want others to enjoy them too!!
I'm painting my laundry room today. Had to stop early, as this first day of fall it's getting above 80's and I don't feel like sweating anymore! I'll take befores and afters of my lovely room! The before however, will be less the original wall paper.... the before is the clean white slate!!! And after... you'll have to check it out!!

Spinner Birthday Cake Card

So, what do you think? I need some advice.... although it does say Happy Birthday on the inside.... should I put it on the outside of the card as well? A scalloped circle?? An oval word bubble on the stitched part???Although I love the color combo and layout of this card, it's missing something!!
I used the cuttlebug and scallop nestie to create the center, and used thin thread to 'suspend' the circle cut out. And it is a cuttlebug die cut for the cake on a pedestal. I couldn't fit the candle up top, thus the reason for stamping candles around the image.
Please give me some constructive advice.... I'm asking you to comment!!! Let me know you are out there!!!!
Woke up to a foggy cool morning, about 58 degrees, that's all burned off on this last day of summer and it's 77 in the shade. I started burning my pumpkin spice candles...mmmm the smell great!!... we're inbetween seasons today... come on fall... but I don't want to miss the glorious sunny blue skies of summer!! Happy Day!

Jumbo Paper Clip book mark & card

Yikes! It's been a few days since I've been able to work the blogger download for pictures. But I think it's worth the wait!
I finally remembered to look for JUMBO paper clips and found them at Wal-Mart.... 10 for .99 cents. Used the cuttlebug and Nestabilities to make the scallops up top. I gave one of these to Sissy last week and the bow was on the floor in the living room, so I think I might of attached it wrong. I guess I have to work on that! Love the pink papers I found in my scrap pile to make the front of the card.
Today the kids and I went to the local humane society and cleaned up the cat room. We go in with other volunteers and wipe walls, clean floors, change kitty litters and then give the cats some TLC!!! I have to go take a shower and get that kitty smell out of my nose!!!

A pictures worth a 1,000 words

I'm having trouble posting a picture today! Should I describe my world in 1,000 words or less. It's a beautiful day out today! Sunny blue skies, a light breeze, and the birds are chirping outside my kitchen window! Whew! quiet again, the neighbor took a break from mowing!! We got up to 5" of rain last week, so everybody needs to mow!

I got a lot done today, the maid was in!! (I'm the maid) She vacuumed and dusted, walked the dog, cleaned the counters and the tub, and bought in bulk at Sam's club! She's a fine lady, this estate might need to think about giving her a raise!

Starting to make dinner.... Chicken BLT's on a crescent! I bake chicken with basic seasonings (salt, pepper a few different herbs and garlic) then I chop it up in the food processor with onion and cooked bacon. Add ranch dressing and a cupful of any shredded cheese, to make things moist... then instead of rolling up the pillsbury cresecent rolls, we lay them flat making them into rectangle flat bread. We top the flat bread with the chicken and bacon mix, and then everybody can top how they want, shredded lettuce, tomato, salsa etc.... yummy!!!

PS- Thank you Traci for visiting my blog as well.... I have another fan that I failed to mention the other day. I'm sorry!

Eerily similar, yet different

Brooms have long been connected with witchcraft, almost universally portrayed as medieval-style round brooms and associated with female witches. Despite the association with women, in 1453, the first known case of claiming to have flown on a broomstick is recorded, confessed by the male witch Guillaume Edelin.[1] There are, however, prior records of witches flying on sticks or similar objects, usually that had been first greased with a magical flying ointment.
This $1 witch-e-poo from M's is so adorably cute!! Here are two versions of the same inspirational layout! Pulled out some of my neglected craft scissors to give texture to the frames. I love going in my paper scrap box and trying to make colors and patterns work. eery!!! boo!

Frogs and Flowers

A fun and useless fact:
Certain frogs can be frozen solid then thawed, and continue living
These are two fun cards I made this week. I was trying to copy the SU! stamp on the left, I don't know what it's called, they look like bunches of dandelions. Both cards have checked background paper. Used stickles for the flower centers on the frog card, both in the watering can and the flowers around the edges of the Nestabilities scalloped circles.

Yep, I'm not working!

Who wants to buy some cards??? Cards for sale!!! So it's the 4th day of the week and Zindorf has had more tutorials, and I'm following her great inspiration. Sorry about the blurry trees, I'm just having so much fun!!

Zindorf Slide Show

A taste of fall

Owls have large forward facing eyes and and ear holes, a hawk like beak, a flat face, and usually a conspicuous circle of feathers around each eye called a facial disc.
Altlhough 'inspired' by this card, the original artist has a great feeling and has captured this definition of Wikpedia for 'owl'. I love the brighter fall colors. Used my $11 markers I got at Target when they were the rage a few weeks ago in the school supply aisle. Pulled out some of my orange and green scrap patterned paper. I really like partial stripes on a card, and the other side blank. What trouble can I get into today.... hah! You know me.... no trouble!

Quarter Sheet Wonder

Did you know that Diet coke was invented in 1982?? A silly useless fact to dazzle your friends with!!

Today's cards are both using a left over scrap of paisley patterned paper. I think it's amazing how different they look. I found some odd green fabric paper that looks cool behind the purple here! Kind of frazzled!
And on this card, I created an opening, using my exacto knife in an X motion. It's like a peek-a-boo moment with the corners rolled up. The barely banana brings out the creamy color in the paisley.

Happy Birthday MOM!!!!

And Happy Birthday Sarah.... as well as Leslie and another Sarah!!!!

I got some of the new pp (patterned paper) from Stampin Up! and here are two cards made from some of the paper. I totally used someone elses great layout and think they turned out awesome. I was able to ink the super white flowers to match my color scheme!

It's 47 degrees out! I can't believe it. What? September comes and all of a sudden we hit fall??? One of our trees in the back has almost lost all of it's leaves!

I'm so addicted to making cards. I almost have to keep myself out of the craft room. I have a good book to read, so that will help me steer clear!

This weeks Zindorfs

You know how much I love Michelle Zindorf's tutorials!!! Here's what I created this week. I finally broke down and bought the 'tree' stamps from Stampin Up!! even though I could draw them... With the Just a note card... Michelle used a different stamp that had the little island with the rocks etc.. I'm still having great fun trying to copy that image and work on the shading and reflection in the water. These cards are just so fun for me!!! So, I bet it's hard to tell what I stamped and what I drew!

Bronze Medal Winner!!!

I won the Bronze Medal in the decathlon at Highlowaha!!!

If you recall, a few weeks ago I was directing you to this creative site where we had our own little mini Olympics, along with the real Olympics. We were to use our creativity in 10 different events ranging from card making (yay me!!) to coming up with a song for Highlowaha that was to the music of the Beach Boy's Kokomo!! If you go back a few posts you will also see my entry for a Feng Shui toilet paper roll!

And here's my medal.... chocolate!!! And a HUGE notepad, journal, inspiration maker!!!! Look how cool it is packaged!!!! It was beautiful!!!!Yowzer!!!! Thank you Claudia!!! Take a peek over at Highlowaha... a community full of ideas!!!!

An apple a day...

The marketing slogan [37] and proverb addresses the health effects of the fruit: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Research suggests that apples may reduce the risk of colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer.[

I'm working a little outside the box. I believe a Secret Sister sent me this image last year. All I had to do was color it in and create the card. I used water color pencils and then a blender pen. I'm still unsure of shading and the light source, so I had to go to the House Mouse site and look at the original image.

We got over 2" of much needed rain today! It's a beautiful morning, still kind of cloudy... Cooper is waiting for me to take him for a walk! We have a whole bunch of leaves on the ground in the back... it almost feels like a fall day!!! Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods!!

Gray Hare

Grey hair color typically occurs naturally as people age . For some people this can happen at a very young age.
Oh No...
another gray hair in the tub!!!
Happy Birthday
I've made a few of these cards. Just love the saying, it's so fun!!
Nothing too special about today. It's quiet in the house with a sweet heart rain falling on the roof!!

The good Witch is in!!!

A witch is a practitioner of witchcraft. While mythological witches are often supernatural creatures, historically many people have been accused of witchcraft, or have claimed to be witches.

I think she's a good witch, don't you??? And for just $1 each how can you beat both stamps from M's?!!! The Happy Halloween is from a few years ago... and witchy poo is from a quick stop yesterday! Tried to do a little Markie's Mom with the dots surrounding all the pieced images. I also tried to use up some of my smaller paper scraps to create the frames.

Yay! It's cooled off a bit... it was in the 90's yesterday. Wish me luck! I'm off to meet with the temp. agency to see what type of job I'm qualified for!!

Labor Day

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday originated in 1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New York City) sought to create "a day off for the working citizens".

Wow, maybe I'm not supposed to post today. I tried doing the slide show 4 times before I got it to work, and then tried to make this entry twice! mmmmm, maybe I just forgot how to do it! Happy Labor Day!

We're off today to finish the garage. We cleaned it out Friday and then epoxyed the floor... so today we get to put it all together! Wonderful weather weekend here in the mid-west. Sun is shinning... our grass has gone dormant because we've gotten hardly any rain in August.

We went up to Wisconsin yesterday to visit friends. We saw a lot of Harleys... it was their 105th Anniversary! Ate too much good food!!!

Have a wonderful week as we all get back into the swing of school and whatever else!! Thanks for visiting. Leave a comment any time!!!

Happy Day
