Amazing color
This is not true to life color.... wonder what went wrong with the camera? It's actually greens and yellow....mmm??? However, I do like the layout and have done this card a lot. I think the original image is from a 4 year old PaperCraft mag. Nothing special about it, again a simple card that still looks nice.
Maybe to get true-er color I'll set up a small lighted studio and capture the correct image... as seen at: http://heartfeltgreetings.blogspot.com/.

Saw it, did it
Not that this card is plain and simple.... but I do like how 'plain' it is. I used versamark on the green cards stock to have a watermark image. Then used ink for one solid image. Inked the edge of the card stock.... wrote a simple thank you and adhered the brads. I like the card recipe and think you could put any sentiment on the card. I'm going through old magazine to re-use old techniques are try things I never did before that have been around forever.

In between starting dates
of school, I have been card making. I really like today's card. Since I haven't found any scallop punches (not that I'm looking that hard) I love using my coluzzle to cut out the circle and then a simple $1 scissors that has a scalloped edge to create the 'punch'. I'm still trying to perfect the roundness of the cut, but unless you look hard... it 'almost' looks perfect!! Have a good day!

Stamp Camp Cards
Here are my cards. Not that any of them are new techniques, but Marilyn puts on fun classes with her pre-cut paper and always tons of cute new stamps.

Backwards Pick
So, for the next few entries to my blog I'm going to add some backward cards. Instead of coming up with the theme and pulling the card stock and then the coordinating background paper or patterned paper.... this time I took the card stock, went through my scrap bin to find random matches... then went through my recipes, card sketches and magazines to find an idea to work on the papers I already pulled out.
http://stampinwithmarkiesmom.blogspot.com/ I get a lot of inspiration from this blog. She is very talented.... (I case a lot of ideas from her) I think one of her cards had 11 layers of paper on it... that had to be a heavy cards.
Another part of this card I like... the bow.... I just taped the ribbon to the card, then made a bow and placed on top with a pop dot.

Guy Birthday
Every once in a while I try to get away from the flowers. Stamp for this card was from the $1 bin at M's.

Think Big
Followed the directions in the PaperCraft magazine for this one. Stamped the flowers with embossing ink, colored in the stems with a marker. Stamped the image on to the paper and heated embossing powder. Then I used a sponge smooshed it in ink and sponged around the image. Came back and stamped the saying on top. I think this type of card will work well for sympathy cards.

I like your style
Once again, just going through some older images and putting together new cards. Popped up the image a bit, added faux stitching along with the text. I really like the diamond pp with the french text on top, gives it a bit of sophistication. Thanks to all those you stop in and look at my blog. I hope you get inspired by a few of the entries!! Enjoy your day!

Just doodling

Outside and In-side
All day long yesterday they had Craft Products on QVC.... hey it was good background noise.... so I was inspired and created a few layered cards. It's funnny when I put cards up for sale, I can remember what was 'on' in the background noise as I was creating creative greetings! I made a lot of cards during the 'sensation' of Anna Nicole's death.... anyhoo.... Since I don't have many sentiment stamps, I've been piecing scraps from the front of the card and putting them inside with simple words or nothing at all.... but trying to tie in the entire card with color and theme. Very Punny SU! stamps. I really love whoever discovered using the small circle punch and clipping out the corners. Such a cool affect.

Classics
I felt like doing some major doodling. All the images are hand drawn and cased from I believe the 2002 SU! catalog. The rose and leaves was chalked. It looks soft. I got a new HB stamp from Archivers, just a simple script. For the topiary, I found some textured (actually holy) green paper to put behind the image. I am trying to add more shadow to the images with a grey zip ink marker. The flower pot has stippled background paper, I used a huge brush and kind of just radomly brushed it across a very light cream paper.

Big Lots
The clasp on the card with the ribbon tied to it is from Big Lots! I always scope out their craft section and they had tons of these funky ribbon trims for $1. The clasps were attached to a twill ribbon, so I had to nip off the clasp with a wire cutter.... and I got 17 of these clasps, attached it to my card with a matching copper brad. Trying to use up more of my scrap paper. Cased the image (I do the outline with my Zig writer pen) mostly in black, sometimes brown or grey. I colored the image in with my watercolor pencils. Since all my blender pens are dried up, I made my own solution, a mix of glycerine, distilled water and rubbing alcohol.

Layer Up
I like the lovely layers on this card.... one on top of the other. I also like the color combo, but it does make the card sort of heavy. I'm just radomly casing cards from blogs and galleries, drawing up a quick recipe (the design concept),using up scrap pieces from my overflowing box, inking the edges, pushing punches, and the cuttlebug embossing folders and finding ribbon in my stash that matches.

5 card tote
Too cute for words! I followed the tutorial at http://leslierich.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ Running with scissors. A mini tote to put cards in. I'll be working on a few more of these. Oh my gosh.... I need to think outside the box, in a matter of words.... but some of these ladies create things that are so fun to case!! Thanks!
Tanja's papers
My friend Tanja sent me a little care package with tidbits of fiber, ribbon and paper. So, in honor of her, here are three cards I made with the jazzy 'rice' (?) paper she sent me. I'm trying to blend layers, shapes and colors. I love the blue card best. I've been hearing about the scallop punches, but I'm not ready to spend the $$.... so I punched out a circle and used my scallop scissors to create my own. I really like the red and black combo to. Stay tuned for more.... I have a few more cards to piece together! Thanks Tanja!

Dog Daze of Summer
Ah Cooper, what can I say about my cute companion. It's hot out there, he's telling me, almost 95 in the shade. August 2nd.... school will be starting soon (3 weeks+). We've already been out shopping for supplies. It's funny how the princess feels she NEEDS everything new.... I want this, and that and more of this!!! I'm off to give Cooper another ice cube! Happy Day.
Got Baby?
My stock of baby cards are growing!! Nobody I know is needing baby cards... could this be an indicator?? Well, anyhoo... I love these images from SU!.... these are my hand drawn versions from the new catalog. I'm figuring I need more generic cards, just in case someone stops by in need of a baby card... and not knowing if it's a boy or girl.... play it safe. I was also trying to use up those pesky scraps of paper that are under 4"x4".... I can't throw anything away it seems.
