Told ya!

More butterflies!

I've just realized, well not really... I've come to a realization ... that there are some great designer papers out there, and I'm missing out! As much as I want to use and recycle my old, OLD, OLd stuff... did I mention OLD (its like 7 years) the colors and styles just aren't hip and cool enough.... I could say something in regard to that.... what does it really matter since I'm giving away more cards than I'm selling.... but there is something about the new paper and designs..... what, I can't just toss away perfectly good paper. This is not old DP.... it's from a tiny pad that I got on sale somewhere... love the plum/eggplant and the green/moss color combo. And you can only order this great paper on line... I'm not finding anything worthy at HL or M's.

I can't keep up..... I've been reading too many cute blogs. These ladies are so darn creative. They are on design teams and have been published in card maker magazines. Some have waited two years and they finally see a card they submitted. Wow!!!

Grey day today. I see more ground than snow covering. The yucky thing about this time of year is the mud.... on 8 paws, ugh!!! Bubba finished up some ACT & SAT classes after school the past two days. He is pumped on what it will take to study up for those college exams. Good luck Bubba!!! I bet you didn't know that the entire time I'm writing this post my little buddy has been on my lap! Tucker loves to just lay there with his head falling off the side watching the birdies come to the bird feeder outside the kitchen picture window.
Hump Day!

Tri Fold Wish

Yay! I bought some wide ribbon a while ago and it was in my stash, and it really makes a big difference on this card. There must be a challenge going on over at SCS because there are tons of cards in the gallery with the Top Note form (punch? I'm at a loss here, what would it be called?). I'm so happy I learned from MK how to cut the one down at the dotted edge so that I can layer them.... this looks just smashing!!!!.... the blue and brown flowers are my own Prima... I am bound and determined not to spend that kind of money and create my own paper flowers. Still working on perfecting the worn paper look for that.

Foggy day .... I thought I heard we are supposed to get up to 55 degrees today or tomorrow, but with rain. Made a delish chicken shish k bob for dinner last night with yummy fresh red & green peppers, onions and mushrooms on the skewer, a baked potato and crusty garlic bread. Off to the post office today, I actually had an order to fill so I'm going to mail that out!! Yippee.... I love errand day!

Reverse Negative

I don't know if this is what this is called, but I didn't really know what to call it... and I'm running out of new stuff to show you because I have been gone for 5 or so days. But this image is with the gel pen on the darker card stock... I've done some other flowers like this before. A lot of my cards are blank because I don't know what sentiment to put on them. They are just sitting here for the right occasion.
Cards for sale!!! They make great personalized gifts!!!!!

Well being away for a few days for an event that really doesn't involve me, gave me a new perspective on a few things:

*I love my house and I love my bed!
*I love my iced coffee and the way I make it. Although I am so intrigued by Starbucks, I have to admit I just don't get that place.... they along with Charley's mom started me on the iced coffee thing... but I'm just not asking for it the right way or it's just not tasting the same.
*People are weird! You know? Do you open yourself up for someone who could care
less about you, or are you cautious of what you say and appear cold?
*I love my husband and my life.
*I would not want to be a teenager again
*The GPS is a wonderful gadget.... we named ours Nancy, but I don't think she always knows where she is going
*Okay, so if I got my nails done(you know the real pretty french manicure) would I be able to scrub the floor, do the dishes and other things... they would be ruined.... I love the look but how much do people really pay each? week for that stuff.
Screaming on the side lines, what does it get you other than a horse voice?

Well, I got laundry to do, grocery shopping, doggies who need me, it's good to be home.

More on butterflies

Popular theme, yes I know I showed off cute flowers that float last week, but there is so much out there in the way of butterflies! You will probably see more posts about them in the weeks to come. These first two cards are inspired by Nichole's blog Capture the Moment I have been following her for years, she started Papertrey Inc. Her stuff is so darn cute.... and again, since I have not bought from her, but I have similar supplies, I admit that I CASe the goods.

I just love the way these cards turned out and think I will make more, maybe even as a card set.

The last bright yellow card was inspired from somewhere... but it is going in my SHINE pile of cards. One day I will tell you what that is.

And yes, the sun is SHINING today, again! I looooove it!!!!! Give me some sunSHINE!!!

Well, sad news.... but good news too! Bubba played in his division Illinois high school state hockey play offs last night, it was the 2nd game into the elimination round. He scored one of the two goals and assisted on the other goal. Whooo hoo!!! But unfortunately, they lost 3 to 2 and they are officially out of the state playoffs. Season over! And from what we can tell, the end to his hockey career? He talks about not trying out his senior year..... so we'll see. At least he went out on a personal high note!!!

Well, I gotta pack, finish some laundry, make up some snacks, get my stamping project/down time stuff ready to go, and after school it's up to Wisconsin for a volleyball tournament! Take this stuff while you can, we only have 3 more years left with kids until they flutter away!!!!

Smiles

I saw this card over the weekend at Smiley Collectors blog and thought it was simply adorable and a must do! So I did! Since I am cheap (frugal) instead of buying the paper Prima flowers that come in the 'got milk' type of containers.... I bought tons of flower stems 1/2 off... in white and discovered and re-discovered that you can just 'ink' the white ones to match.... so I did. I can always work on my stitching and edge inking, but I think anyone who receives this card wouldn't look so close as to see if I 'messed up' anywhere.
And then the most important part, the inside is done too! Sure completes the card!

Yay! Another day in a row of SUNSHINE! & blue skies. The snow is starting to melt, although it is covering EVERYWHERE, it's slowly sinking into the ground. The birds are out chirping this morning, sounds like a spring day. The Domestic Diva cleaned some more grout in the kitchen tile (she's been doing about 4' x 4' spots at a time) she even ironed a few things yesterday, mirrors were done too! She needs to be paid more, I think! 10 feet need to go for a walk. Thank you very much to my small fan base who often read and comment to my blog! You brighten my day like the ice crytals reflecting in the sun! :0)

Have fun

I should make that a bucket list item, go surfing on the Pacific Ocean. Wouldn't that be quite the sight? But this too would be quite the sight seeing this cute Whipper Snapper mouse with his own little pint sized surf board. The thing that kills me is thinking how long his right arm is for his hand to be on the other side of the board. Hee hee... but I did have fun drawing this card and working as always on the shading.v I'm really loving checked paper... reminds me of kitchen curtains from the 60s.

The domestic diva did what she said yesterday (dishes and laundry to rimind you).... today I think it's ging to be bathroom mirrors. It's sunny right now, but it looks like some clouds are rolling in from the west. This weekend I'm taking Sissy to a tourney in Wisconsin Dells.... Water Park capital of the world....oh joy! I mean I'll have fun!

Dare to be Different

Hang in there.... things will be looking up soon...haven't had your coffee yet?
I think all of them could be the appropriate saying for these 4 guys who give a hoot about you!! Or me, maybe the card is for me, to hang in there!!! I'm fortunate, maybe I have to stop searching for an opportunity and let it find it's way to me!

OMG, I just saw the piles of laundry in the basket that need to be folded. Yikes! Dishwasher light is on, that means it's full.... domestic divas work is never done!!! Now if I can just find where I put those bon bons!!!!
