This card was fun. I admit I love seeing what new things Michelle Zindorf has to offer. This is the card she had on her tutorial blog last week. The only problem I have is placing a sentiment inside. But some of these cards I haven't even given away because I like looking at them! I'm amazed that I can actually create some of these things. But the way she shows each step makes things easy!!!
Well this is the week that my temporary job starts to wind down. The month of July I will be working 2 days a week as the original receptionist starts to come back to work.

A simple summer day
Every once in awhile I buy designer paper (do I really need more paper?), don't always know what I'm going to do with it, but here's an idea I got from browsing Markie's Moms blog. And to answer my own question, yes! I do need to buy special paper every once in a while.... sometimes the paper that comes in those big packs on sale 40% off... don't always have cute paper, or I get tired of it! When I buy in single sheets, I try to match the cardstock with the patterned paper (PP) I think it gives it a sleek look! So, every once in a while you will see a card a bit out of the ordinary for me!
A bit about Sissy: she's in Louisville with her dad for the JVDA tourney. They've had three days of play and each day ended up 2 wins vs 1 loss. It's complicated to fully explain, so they played up in a pool and now are placed 2nd. Dad says Sissy is playing quite well, very consistant and has had some good saves, while some team members have had some off plays! Stayed tuned for the end of the season!
When life gives you lemons turn it into lemonade then mix it with vodka.

Just sing, sing a song
I've CASE-d this image before, but then I saw this cute layout and thought it was perfect! Cuttlebugged the green designer paper from SU! This card just screams happiness and fun to me!
Woke up to a beautiful cool morning... it was 64! The high this week has been in the mid to upper 90's.... that is a heat wave!
When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

Let's go shoppin'
One of those cute Ketto girls off of Stampabella (I believe) all in pink! With a little bit a stickle sparkle!
Off for one of my last remaining days of work, before my 9 month temporary job is over!

The Boys
Well, I think Cooper has grown a few gray hairs in the past weeks! Tuck-man is quite a handful for us as well as his brother from another mother!
Cooper has been great putting up with the constant nipping of the little man Tucker.... tiny bites the big one's ears, inner mouth, behind the knees. After some time, we'd like to give Cooper permission to wallup the little one to put him in his place. What we do is put Tucker in timeout in his crate, just to stop the insanity for a while.
Tucker is very possessive, he doesn't want ANYONE to play with his toys so he starts to hoard them and then growls if we get near. Tons of energy this little guy... like the energizer bunny.... he doesn't know when to stop... so we have to pick him up, go around to everyone in the house to say nite-nite.... and put him in his crate for the night! He barks at every little thing too.... Cooper never barks.... unless there is a mean dog passing our house... now he barks along with Tucker at every little sound!
Stay tuned for more dog stories!

Totally Topiary
Weird camera angle, but I kinda like it (a picture from my mess desk area). This one was fun to color in. I still, and always will be working with the light source and angle, trying to highlight and shadow some of my projects. Maybe this week I'll take a few pictures of my mistake drawer, so that 'people' whoever you might be.... know that I do make mistakes or don't always like how my little creative greeting turns out.
Remember wherever there is a good looking, sweet, single or married man there is some woman tired of his bulls***!!

Wedding Re-haul
The wedding cake image was on a lonely white card stock of mine. It was old and sad looking... so, I thought I'd bring it up to date. I cut appart the plain ole white card, cuttlebugged background and used the circle scallop nesties for the cute stickled cake, added a sentiment with a ribbon and put the card back together, with a little more pop!!! Should have done a before and after.

Zindorfs week of 6-21
What more can I say about how talented Michelle Zindorf is, and the wonderful tutorials she gives designs for free on her blog. The sad thing is, she got so popular with her ideas and cool techniques she is now teaching her stuff through classes, she isn't home much to create new tutorials. She's off traveling and seeing the USA. What a cool way (in some ways) to create a business from your art!!
Here's a few cards I did in the past week.
I love each one, because I try something new, or work on some technique.
All, are quite fun!
Did I tell you I'm drinking iced coffee? It's very good.
Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry: God never blinks.

Butterfly garden
A card from last week. Based off a layout from Markie's Mom. I thought it was bright and colorful. Next time, I'll match the butterfly to the background paper... I like that better! More of a mono chromatic color scheme, this works, but next time!
Off of work today, yay!! I can get caught up from being on vacation for 5 days. The neighborhood is having a garage sale tomorrow.... so I thought I'd make a few bucks... gotta get moving on pricing 'crap'.
Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

This reminds me of apple blossoms in Washington, why? I don't know. This is a tutorial from Michelle Zinzorf. Love the color combo.

"Pop" cicle
Hey there! We're back, safe and sound to the cooler temps of the Midwest. It was 94 and sunny yesterday when we left Orlando, and when we landing at O'Hare it was pouring rain and 64 degrees! What a difference a few thousand miles makes!!
Sissy's team did well overall. They could have won more if they had their head in the game... we went to the championship round in their pool of players and they ended up in 2nd for that! So, with 71 teams playing, yadda yadda.... they ended up 23rd!! All in all, we had a good trip, but it sure is nice to be home.
So back to cardmaking. I've got to start today where I left off a week ago, with last weeks goods! After a day of working, laundry and pick up, maybe I'll get back in my 'office' later tonight, I miss creating.
Cute little card I cased off someones blog. (thank you) It's a mini card with rounded corners. Used my small nesties scallop circle to take a bite out of the ice cream bar, broke a craft stick in half, tied on a bow, used a few pop dots to raise the image around the stick... and an adorable card to come up with any 'pop' cicle jokes, statements, sentiments!!!

You win some, you lose some
Well, actually they lost 3 matches today..... that's 6 games. (Sissy is playing volleyball in Orlando, her team was seated 2nd out of 71 teams) They were not on their game today! Or, they were seriously ranked wrong, so they weren't ready for some REAL competition. Hopefully they learn from today's losses. One more day here in Florida and then it's back to reality!

Florida 3 ~ v-ball1
Okay! We've been down in Florida for three days! I love the weather, yes, a bit extreme
(my car read 101 yesterday afternoon about 2pm) when I found out that it was 54 and rainy in Illinois today. All us notherners were sweating like pigs at opening ceremonies.... just standing there the sweat was dripping down my back! Well yes, I was doing the Macarana! And it's day 1 of volleyball!
Last nite they had opening ceremonies for the AAU National Volleyball Championship at the Disney Wide World of Sports. There were over 450 teams there from Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and other states, plus the most teams were from Puerto Rico!!!!! All girls from age 10 up to age 15. I believe the older girls play later next week.
It was almost like watching the Olympics with the girls parading in. Many of the teams must have done this kind of event before... if it wasn't for the last minute thinking of the team mom/chaperone Jean we wouldn't have been noticed. She had a friend make bright lime green shirts with our team name( and a big Mickey eared volleyball) etc... on them. Girls from Texas had cowboy boots and hats on. Girls from Hawaii and cute flower shirts and wrap skirts on. Puerto Rico was brightly adorned!! There were pom poms and mardi gras beads, candy, and beach balls being tossed in the stands. Over 5,000 girls in the baseball staduim plus families and chaperones to start off the 4 day event. It was really cool.

I must admit my best friend NANCY, the name of my trusty GPS has been a godsend in helping me to get around Orlando. However, she doesn't always speak up quick enough and it's easy to miss an exit. oooops!!!
Well, I've layed by the pool for a couple of hours, feels good (soory honey) the girls start play this afternoon at 2:30... finishing some time tonight after 8:30.
Go SkyHigh 14 Red!!!

Get along little doggie, or two doggies
Here's a fun Cooper card I did. I had some left over bandanna background paper and thought it would work perfect with a western themed card including #1 dog Cooper. Added a strand of hemp to the side of the card and just used water color pencils to color in the images.
Although I will be posting on my blog (remotely) this will probably be the last card for a few days. Heading down to Orlando with Sissy for a volleyball tournament. Goodbye Illinois barely spring weather... HELLO hot and humid Florida!!!!

Birthday List
Here's a cute little board book I made for S. to keep track of all of her friend's birthdays. We had to eat some cereal quick so I could get the tag board from the box to make the covers. Decorated the front and back and insides with new dp from SU!!
Inside I computer generated all the months of the year plus 6 extra pages to add special dates to remember. Oh, I know you write birthdays on the calendar, but this way, you don't have to transfer from calendar to calendar each and every year.... it's your birthday book! Next, to make is one of those folders that holds an entire years worth of cards..... but who does that? oooh, look at my cute toes in that picture!!!
Well, I officially have two high schoolers! Sissy had her 8th grade awards ceremony last night. We are very proud of her. She has a 4.028 gpa.... translated... straight A's!!! She maintained high honor roll all three years of middle school! Go Sissy!
Over prepare, and then go with the flow.

Little girls everywhere
Love these girls from Stampin bella Ketto
I change them a bit in the face, the dresses are fun and the hair is so cute. The more stuff sticking out, the better!! I was making bandanna background paper and I thought this combo would work together.
This little one could work for a 4th of July Hello ! I found some really, really old background paper and thought it had a Markie's Mom esq feel to it!! Punched out a few hearts with my Cuttlebug.
And last, my wild child, funky hair and cute color combo for the clothes. She's holding a sparkler! Stickles fun with that one!!
Weird, but good weekend. I sat and read almost ALL day Saturday, The Double Bind.... excellent read, had me on the edge!!! But Saturday was kind of rainy and cloudy, perfect reading weather. Sunday was the final tournament for volleyball here at our home site. Out of 8 teams (13 & 14 year olds) dd's team 14 Red won the entire event, undefeated in 6 matches!!! We'll be off to Florida this Thursday for a Nation tournament in Orlando!!!

Let them eat cake!!
Here's a very cute design I came across while internet surfing. Is that called nurfing? Just a piece of delicious chocolate cake with pink frosting and a cherry on top! How good does that look? I just used markers to color this one in, pretty simple with out any embellishments. Happy Birthday Wishes!
I received another provocative page of quotes to live by, so I will try and remember to leave you with a nice thought for the day.
When in doubt, just take the next small step.

Sandcastle Zindorf 6-1
Here's a cute little beachy scene a tutorial for a card by Michele Zindorf. I had fun drawing the sandcastle, but it was a little work. Just like building a sandcastle, not too close to the shore because you don't want it to disappear with the next wave rolling in. I just love how the little frothy water is coming to shore! The red brads add a bit of a punch of color!!! What's next?
