Bean There, Done That

We've heard of Millennium Park.  Our children have visited there a few times on school field trips.  Often the Chicago news shows pictures of the park.  Many tourists visit the park to see a huge 110 short ton sculpture named Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor.

It was fondly nicknamed "The Bean"..... it reflects and distorts the city's skyline.  And since we went on a day adventure to the Windy City, we actually stumbled upon this popular tourist photo spot.

Week #26 - LIFE'S simple pleasures - day adventure

We were on our merry way walking up Michigan Avenue to find our Chicago River architectural boat tour, and we actually turned left and then right and then right out of the train station, and a few blocks later, we ended up at he AT & T Plaza.  Dedicated to the city on May 15, 2006 it is a fantastic center piece of architectural art in the middle of a huge green park on Lake Michigan.

We were total tourists.

And you know what?  That's okay!

It's one of those once in a LIFE time simple pleasures, going someplace for the first time.... even though pretty much everyone has already done that and BEAN there!  And taken their distorted reflective 'classic' picture in the highly polished stainless steel plates!

Hey, it's all about the angles and the positioning.  The best part, it was FREE!
